The Catholic Women’s League of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Council has been in existence since 1943. Currently we have 103 members. The Catholic Women’s League is the largest national organization of Catholic women in Canada with 100,000 members from coast to coast. Members join for personal and spiritual growth, friendship and lots of fun. Through active participation in the League’s standing committees, members have many opportunities to give good example and leadership in the formation and expression of Christian attitudes and principles. Our meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month except during July and August, starting at 7 p.m. Our meetings commence with a decade of the rosary for all our members followed by the business portion and then refreshments and social time. Our mission statement is: “THE CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE OF CANADA IS A NATIONAL ORGANIZATION ROOTED IN GOSPEL VALUES CALLING ITS MEMBERS TO HOLINESS THROUGH SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD”. We hold two major fund raising events in the year, namely our Bazaar in the Fall and our famous St. Patrick’s Banquet in March. Any woman interested in joining our organization may contact the office and their request would be directed to Joan Lepage, our current president,. at 613.746.8503 |
